Making A Difference
What have the members of your Lodge or District done lately to make a
difference? Next time you organize a project for your community, a school, an elderly
person in the neighborhood, let us know! Send us your pictures; send us your
stories. We'll get them on the web as time and workload allow. Let's share the
great news about all the ways that Masons in this Jurisdiction are Making A
Difference!

An open
letter to Brewster Masons
Dear Editor,
I recently acquired a position that necessitates travel to Brewster,
Bridgeport, and Pateros schools. During my frequent trips to these
school districts, I began to notice some beautiful new bicycles placed
where students can admire them. I discovered this is a program sponsored
by your organization to encourage students to read.
The students that read the most books are entered in a raffle and one
boy and one girl win bicycles. I also understand that this raffle occurs
twice each school year. That means each school receives four bicycles
from you. This equates to 12 bicycles donated from the Brewster Masons
each year.
This is an extraordinary program! It is also a wonderful "act of
kindness" that reflects on the generosity of each of you and says
something very profound about your character. Please accept a heartfelt
thank-you from these three communities. Please know that your kindness
is appreciated, especially from every student that has stood near these
shiny new bicycles and dreamed they could become the proud owner by
reading more. These dreams are worth untold fortunes.
