Above are some pictures of the school bus shelters the Brethren of Hermanos
del Arte, No. 314, are building for our local school kids. Currently we have 2
shelters installed and are awaiting word from the school on where to place
additional shelters.
This project came about due to the failure of our local school levy and the
rising cost of fuel. The Brewster School District had to cut back on the number
of routes, which meant the kids have to walk to designated areas to catch the
bus. The Brethren of HdA didn't want to see the kids stand out in the rain and
snow this winter, so came up with the idea of the shelters.
Those pictured are: WB Stretch Bledsoe, WM of Hermanos del Arte; Bro. Dan Ewing,
Jr. Deacon and our photographer, and MW Bill Wood. WB Stretch designed, prefab,
and donated all the materials for the shelters. Helping erect the shelters were
Bro. Pete Hallenius, Treasurer; VWB Clarence Weitman, Jr. Warden; and MW Bill
Wood.
