MEET THE NEW JUNIOR GRAND WARDEN

 G. Santy Lascano

Right Worshipful Godofredo Santy Lascano was born in the Republic of the Philippines. He attended Feati University and studied Electrical Engineering.  He left the University to pursue coursework in Graphics and Commercial Arts at the Philippine College of Arts and Trades.

Santy proudly served 13 years in the United States Army. While serving in the Army, he attended the University of Maryland's European Campus and pursued a career in Computer Studies. Through the Army training program, he acquired advanced training in the field of Multimedia Graphics and Visual Communications. His excellence in the area of photography won him top awards in both the Army and in Inter-Service photographic competitions. His artistic creations also received several commendable recognitions in various art competitions. After leaving the Army, he worked for the American Diabetes Association, Washington Affiliate as Business Applications Systems Manager. He later joined The Boeing Company as an Applications Analyst for the Boeing Graphic Arts software development group.

His Masonic journey began in the Philippines, where he quickly developed great enthusiasm for, and skill in, the art of Masonic Ritual.  There he participated with an elite group of accomplished Masons known as the Grand Lodge Exemplification Team, where he specialized in the delivery of the Middle Chamber Lecture.  In this capacity, he traveled extensively throughout the Jurisdiction. His Masonic journey with the Grand Lodge of Washington began in Everett Lodge, No.137, where he was soon elected Secretary of the Lodge and served in that office from 1999 to 2001.  He was installed and served as Worshipful Master of this Lodge in 2003. His first Grand Lodge Team appointment was from M\W\Richard Mecartea as a member of the Electronic Lecture Committee. He was next appointed Chairman of the same committee by M\W\Robert Van Zee, driving the construction and release of all three Digital Video Multimedia Degree Lectures. Santy also served as the Senior Grand Deacon during M\W\Satoru Tashiro’s term of office. He was then appointed Deputy of the Grand Master in District No. 8, serving for M\W\Alvin Jorgensen and then M\W\Charles W. McQuery. His Lodges of membership include Everett Lodge, No. 137, in Everett; Yancey C. Blalock Lodge, No. 265, in Seattle; LuzViMinda Lodge, No. 317, in Seattle; King Solomon Lodge, No. 150 – Grand Lodge of the Philippines, and he currently serves as a volunteer Chaplain for Alpha Lodge, No. 212, in Everett. He acknowledges a great deal of gratitude in his current Masonic endeavors to the Filipino Masons of Greater Seattle, a group of Washington Masons who are enthusiastic and highly motivated in promoting the vision of this Grand Jurisdiction.

Santy’s Masonic accomplishments are, most importantly, backed by the unwavering support of his Lady Araceli, whom he married in the City of Honolulu on May 26, 1984.  They have two wonderful daughters, Noalani and Nina.  They are the three pillars of his life, providing strength, beauty, and support.  They share in Santy’s commitment to Freemasonry and are excited and honored to assist in seeing them fulfilled.
